Wednesday, November 5, 2008/ 8:16 PM speechless. i got a pleasant shock when i came out from the loo. my childhood bestie's mum and sis were in the living room. and so i knew something's happening for sure. bestie's mum: AFIDAHHHH!!!! (so i gave them my mega-watt smile, cos it was nice seeing them after such a long time. sat down infront of lappie while looking at my typed out application papers.thinking of proof reading them.) mum: da, nurin dah nak kahwin. (which means my childhood bestie, nurin is getting married.) (i prolly looked shocked. but i gave them a nice sweet smile.) and mum continued..... mum: a ah.. yang sama umur ngan dada (yaa,the one who's of the same age as you.) (i took the wedding invitation card and yeah, she's really getting married..) and so they talked, talked and talked. and suddenly mum noticed i was there. oh yes like suddenly she noticed me. mum: cik zarina nak dapat cucu. bila mak nye turn ehh.. (she's gonna get grandchildren..when's my turn to get grandchildren?) i was speechless and lost. so yeah, mum wants grandchildren asap. so hmmm. and i doubt sis is in a mood to get hitch now after what she went through. and later during dinner... dad: sekolah baik baik.. concentrate.. mana tau nanti dah habis skolah boleh tolong suami sikit sikit.. (meaning.... concentrate on your studies, atleast you can help your husband in the future.) i was like ehh.. since when am i involved in this matter?? husband?? huh?? ok lor, just keep quiet.. thats the best thing to do in this situation.. but still with my relationship with rosli being more known to the family, mum expects me to hold the relationship intact and strong. and ohh she keeps 'singing' to my ears abt her friends having grandchildren at her age.. oh btw sayang, mum says wait for me for another 4 years. then can get hitch.. now hows that for motivation from the parents. sheesh. ~good things happen to those who wait.~ |
